The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced planned lane closures and traffic stoppages on the eastbound Washington Boulevard (Route 27) ramp to northbound I-395 in Arlington. The work is scheduled for the nights of March 26 and March 27, weather permitting. This is part of a project related to painting the northbound I-395 overpass.
According to VDOT, the schedule for closures and stoppages is as follows:
- On Wednesday night, March 26, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday morning, one lane will be closed.
- Intermittent traffic stoppages lasting up to 20 minutes each will occur from 11:59 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday.
- On Thursday night, March 27, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Friday morning, one lane will again be closed.
- Additional intermittent traffic stoppages are planned from 11:59 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution while traveling through active work zones and remain alert to new traffic patterns while minimizing distractions.
