Hockett Road in Goochland County to close for pipe replacement project

Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close a section of Route 623, known as Hockett Road, in Goochland County for a pipe replacement project. The closure will affect the stretch between Hamlet Road and Tuckahoe Creek Parkway. The work is scheduled from 8 a.m. on Monday, March 31 through 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

Homeowners along this route will still have access to their properties during the operation.

VDOT has provided detour routes for motorists:

For northbound traffic: Travel west on Route 740 (Tuckahoe Creek Parkway), head northwest on Route 676 (Hermitage Road), continue north on Route 621 (Manakin Road), then proceed east on Route 250 (Broad Street Road).

For southbound traffic: Travel west on Route 250 (Broad Street Road), head south on Route 621 (Manakin Road), continue southeast on Route 676 (Hermitage Road), then proceed east on Route 740 (Tuckahoe Creek Parkway).
