The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced upcoming road work scheduled for the week of February 17-21, 2025, in the Culpeper District. The planned work includes various maintenance and construction activities that may result in lane and shoulder closures, as well as reduced speed limits in certain areas.

In Albemarle County, utility work under a VDOT permit will affect multiple roads. Notably, there will be lane and shoulder closures on Interstate 64 between mile markers 131 and 133 during nighttime hours starting Sunday. Additionally, U.S. 29 (Seminole Trail) will experience right lane and shoulder closures from Monday through Friday.

For drivers traveling through the City of Charlottesville, an update on U.S. 250 (Bypass) indicates bridge inspections with alternating lane closures between Hillcrest Road and the U.S. 250 exit to Route 3414 (Rugby Road).

Culpeper County will see soil borings causing lane and shoulder closures on U.S. 15 (James Madison Highway). Construction work will also lead to right lane and shoulder closures in several locations along U.S. 15.

In Fauquier County, bridge inspections are scheduled with alternating lane closures at specific routes including Route 710 (Rectortown Road) and Route 732 (Ramey Road). Additionally, roadway improvements on U.S. 17 Business (Broadview Avenue) will cause alternating lane closures.

Other counties such as Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Orange have also reported planned roadwork including resurfacing projects and tree removals that may affect traffic flow.

VDOT advises motorists to stay informed about these changes by following updates on Twitter at @VaDOTCulp or visiting their website for detailed travel alerts.
