495 NEXT project crews are set to continue bridge work over northbound I-495 at the Dulles Corridor Interchange. This follows the successful completion of the Big Beam Weekend operation. The ongoing construction is part of efforts to build a new 495 Express Lanes ramp.
The work will necessitate multiple lane closures and periodic total stoppages on northbound I-495 between Route 7 and Lewinsville Road, just north of the Dulles Toll Road. These disruptions will occur during overnight hours from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Additionally, the ramp from eastbound Dulles Toll Road/Airport Access Highway (Route 267) to northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) will be closed. A detour has been posted for drivers: exit onto I-495 South using Exit 18A towards Richmond, take Exit 46B for Route 123/Chain Bridge Road North, then merge immediately onto I-495 North.
In case of bad weather or other delays, the schedule may change or extend. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and anticipate possible delays when traveling through this area.
