American Seed Trade Association issued the following announcement on Nov. 23
The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) congratulates Robert Bonnie on his confirmation as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Farm Production and Conservation.
“Bonnie’s proven record in support of strong conservation programs alongside modern agriculture production methods will benefit American agriculture and consumers alike as we work to address the sustainability and climate issues that impact all of us,” said ASTA President & CEO Andy LaVigne. “Conservation starts with quality seed. Bonnie understands the critical and necessary role of seed innovation, including the latest cover crop varieties, in furthering conservation efforts and ensuring productive, sustainable food production.
“Robert Bonnie is well-experienced and uniquely qualified to serve in this key role. We appreciate the Senate’s action is moving his confirmation forward and we look forward to working with him in his new role.”
