The Virginia Department of Transportation has announced the closure of Purcellville Road (Route 611) in Lovettsville from April 21 to April 25. The section between Legard Farm Road (Route 697) and Morrisonville Road (Route 693) will be closed to through traffic to facilitate the replacement of a weight-restricted bridge over a tributary of Catoctin Creek. The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 21, and end at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 25.
Residents needing access to properties along Purcellville Road will be allowed entry, but they will not be able to travel beyond the point of the bridge replacement, which is adjacent to the property at 14290 Purcellville Road, located between Richards Run Lane and Morrisonville Road.
Traffic will be redirected onto a detour route via Morrisonville Road, Route 287 (Berlin Turnpike), and Nixon Road (Route 697) back to Purcellville Road. According to the department, "The new bridge will not have a posted weight limit."
