Highway work is scheduled in the Lynchburg District from March 24 to March 30, 2025. This work will require road, lane, and structure closures, although weather or other issues may cause delays or cancellations. Updated information can be accessed by calling 511 or visiting https://511.vdot.virginia.gov.
District-wide activities include bridge and guardrail maintenance, cutting of brush and trees, pothole repairs, surface treatment and paving operations, mowing, drainage repairs, and roadside cleanup.
In specific locations:
- In Amherst County: Refer to district-wide activities.
- Appomattox County's Route 613 (Spring Grove Rd.) is closed for a bridge replacement between Route 647 and Route 608 until mid-April 2025.
- In Buckingham County: Refer to district-wide activities.
- Campbell County: Refer to district-wide activities.
- Charlotte County will see sidewalk and ADA ramp replacements on Route 40 (David Bruce Avenue) and Route 47 (Legrande Avenue) starting March 24. Sidewalks and lanes may be closed until May 1.
- Cumberland County: Refer to district-wide activities.
- Halifax County's Route 615 (Dudley Road) is closed for a bridge replacement with an estimated completion in April.
- Lynchburg: Refer to district-wide activities.
- Nelson County's Route 653 (Wilson Road) has a closed bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad with reopening expected in November.
- Pittsylvania County's Route 311 (Harville-Saunders Parkway) is open but still under construction off the roadway. Shoulder and lane closures are anticipated until June 16.
