The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a temporary closure of a section of Route 602, also known as River Road, in Chesterfield for crossline pipe replacement work. The closures are scheduled to take place, weather permitting, on March 25 and March 26.

The closure on March 25 will occur near 15730 River Road from 8 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., while the closure on March 26 will be near 15630 River Road during the same hours. Despite the roadwork, homeowners in the area will still have access to their properties.

VDOT has provided detour routes for eastbound and southbound traffic. Eastbound drivers should follow Route 602 north to Route 659 west, then continue to Route 655 west, proceed to Route 621 south, and finally take Route 621 east back to Route 602. Southbound drivers are advised to travel west on Route 602 north, then take Route 621 east, continue onto Route 655 south, proceed along Route 659 west before returning to Route 602.

For any inquiries about the project, VDOT's customer service center is available at the phone number: 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).
