Of the 1,261,962 students enrolled in Virginia schools during the 2023-24 school year, 0.2% identified as Hawaiian, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

This represents 1,966 Hawaiian students at the time, which is a decrease from the year before, when there were 1,982 Hawaiian students enrolled.

In Virginia, white students made up the most common ethnic group in schools, representing 44.2% of the student body.

As of November 2023, according to Public School Review, in the 2023-24 school year, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
