American Seed Trade Association issued the following announcement on Aug. 18
On August 5, ASTA, along with a dozen agribusiness groups, sent a letter to Senate leaders applauding efforts to secure increased investment in climate-smart agriculture practices that sequester carbon or reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“Farmers and ranchers tend with great care to their natural resources while taking a proactive approach to the long-term sustainability of their land and water,” states the letter. “Currently, USDA conservation financial incentives and technical assistance provide producers with voluntary, incentive-based assistance to carry out multiple stewardship practices on their operations.”
