Weather conditions permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced the closure of westbound lanes on Interstate 64 at mile marker 202.2 in Henrico. This closure is set to commence at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, and will last until 6 a.m. on Friday, April 25. Further closures will follow, beginning again at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 25, continuing until 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. A single lane closure will then occur from 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, to 5 a.m. on Monday, April 28.
During these times, traffic will be rerouted from I-64 westbound to the commuter dispersal lanes at Exit 200, leading to both the I-295 north and I-295 south ramps. Motorists should remain in the left lane to efficiently merge back onto I-64 westbound. The ramps for I-295 northbound and southbound will be accessible throughout this period.
Inquiries concerning the project can be directed to VDOT's customer service center by calling 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Up-to-date traffic information is accessible on 511Virginia at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, as well as via the free 511Virginia app for mobile devices.
