Lane closures and intermittent traffic stoppages will resume on northbound I-495 in Virginia between Route 7 and north of the Dulles Toll Road from Monday, April 7 through Wednesday, April 30. These will take place during overnight hours to allow crews to continue the construction of a new 495 Express Lanes ramp at the I-495 and Dulles Corridor Interchange.
The closures will occur from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday nights. The eastbound Dulles Toll Road/Airport Access Highway (Route 267) ramp to northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) will also be closed nightly.
Drivers affected by the ramp closure should follow the detour by exiting onto I-495 South using Exit 18A to Richmond, then take Exit 46B for Route 123/Chain Bridge Road North, and continue in the ramp lane to merge onto I-495.
In the event of bad weather or other issues, the schedule may change. Drivers should use caution and prepare for possible delays.
