Roadwork and construction activities are scheduled in various counties across the Fredericksburg District this week. Among the notable projects, the Interstate 95 southbound ramp at Exit 126 in Spotsylvania will experience alternating single lane closures as work continues to widen the ramp and add a right turn lane to Route 1 southbound.
In Fredericksburg, Lafayette Boulevard will have a right lane closure from Monday through Friday, reopening by noon on Friday. Two travel lanes will remain open, with a slight shift to accommodate the construction.
Fall Hill Avenue will have alternating lane closures, managed by flaggers, from Monday to Friday during daylight hours. Essex County will see road resurfacing activities on Scotts Mill Road on Tuesday and Friday, with flaggers guiding one-way traffic through these zones.
In Gloucester County, Route 17 will undergo shoulder widening from Monday to Friday, causing lane closures. While in King George County, paving work on Route 3 will also lead to alternating closures throughout the week.
Several roads in King and Queen County will be resurfaced, with flaggers controlling traffic to ensure work zones remain operational. Lancaster County will have single lane closures on Route 3 at the bridge over Camps Prong, lasting until November 2025.
Construction across numerous routes will result in alternating lane closures and flagging operations in Mathews, Middlesex, Northumberland, and Spotsylvania counties. Noteworthy is the continued road improvement work on Route 1 connected to the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions development in Spotsylvania.
Extensive roadwork will affect neighborhoods and subdivisions like Forest Hill, Leavells Crossing, and Stonemill, with similar rescheduling seen in Stafford County, particularly with the closure of Berea Church Road for improvements.
