Beginning on February 16, the ramp from Georgetown Pike to southbound I-495 in McLean, Virginia, will be closed nightly until February 28. The closure is scheduled between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night to facilitate noise wall work for the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

Motorists traveling from east- and westbound Georgetown Pike to southbound I-495 will need to follow a detour. The route involves exiting Georgetown Pike onto southbound Balls Hill Road, turning left onto Lewinsville Road, then taking a right onto southbound Rt. 123/Dolley Madison Boulevard before accessing the on-ramp for southbound I-495.

The schedule may change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen delays. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and anticipate potential delays in this area.

For traffic updates and information about work zones or incidents, visit VA 511 online at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, use the mobile app, or call 511 within Virginia.
