With the possibility of light snow and freezing rain expected early on Saturday, February 8, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is preparing to address potentially slick conditions in the Fredericksburg region. Crews will be stationed along Interstate 95 and other state-maintained roads to manage any adverse weather impacts.

Travelers are advised to check local weather reports and road conditions through 511Virginia before starting their journeys. Conditions may differ across various parts of the state.

All road users, including pedestrians and bicyclists, should exercise caution due to potential slippery surfaces. It is recommended that everyone allow extra time for travel to ensure safe arrival at their destinations.

Particular attention should be paid to elevated surfaces such as bridges, ramps, and overpasses where slick spots are more likely to develop.
