Halifax County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 4

John Hardy will perform a one-man adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” at The Prizery’s monthly First Friday event on Dec. 3 in South Boston.  The production, starting at 7 p.m,  features Hardy playing over 40 characters.

The play follows the book scene by scene. Hardy, who never changes costume, distinguishes the characters with variations in accents and speech as well as physical traits. Voices of Tiny Tim and Scrooge come from the same man. Besides “A Christmas Carol,” Hardy has toured nationally with another one-person play he wrote, “Rattlesnake.”

Hardy says this version of “A Christmas Carol” is appropriate for audiences of any age but is best suited for ages 10 and above.

The Prizery wishes to thank the Virginia Commission for the Arts and The Virginia Tourism Corporation for supporting this concert.

Tickets are from $15 and $10 for youth. Visit prizery.com and click on the Tickets button to purchase seats. For more information or questions, see The Prizery Facebook page or call 434-572-8339.
