As of March 20, Penniman Road in York County has reopened to traffic. The section between William Carter Road and Alexander Lee Parkway had been closed for four months due to the Penniman Road Roadway Improvements Project.

The project aims to enhance safety by widening lane widths, adding bicycle accommodations, and realigning the intersection with Government Road. The construction contract, valued at $3.8 million, was awarded to Henry S. Branscome, Inc. in December 2023. Completion is anticipated by late summer 2025.
