RICHMOND, VA – Attorney General Jason Miyares today filed a notice of participation with the State Corporation Commission (“SCC”) in the Toll Road Investors Partnership II, LLP’s (TRIP II) application for toll increases on the Dulles Greenway. With the filing of this notice, the Office of Attorney General will be participating in the case to stand with Virginia ratepayers, Northern Virginia residents, and commuters in opposition to the plan to increase tolls on the Dulles Greenway, a 14-mile toll road located northwest of Washington, D.C. A formal objection will be filed in the matter at the appropriate time.

Currently Virginians pay $5.80 during peak traffic hours and $5.25 during off peak hours for a standard 2-axle vehicle. TRIP II is requesting to raise that to $8.10 during peak traffic hours and $6.40 during off peak hours.

“Traffic in Northern Virginia is a daily challenge, and rising inflation only adds to the costs of commuting to work,” said Attorney General Jason Miyares. " My office stands alongside Virginia commuters who feel this struggle daily, advocating for fairness and resisting toll increases. Virginians deserve every hard-earned penny, and we’re here to protect Virginians from unreasonable financial burdens.”
