Women's Soccer Falls to Southern Virginia at Home

 The Ferrum College Women's Soccer team fell to Southern Virginia University 2-1, in non-conference action this evening at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS

Morgan Romney netted the first goal on a Madisen Staples assist in the first half, to give Southern Virginia the lead 1-0. Rachel Bodkin would end up scoring the game winning goal for the Knights in the 53rd minute, when she converted a shot from the penalty spot. Aubrey Billings broke the shutout for the Panthers when she converted a free kick from 45 yards out.

SVU: Bodkin 1 game-winning goal; Staples 1 assist; Alyssa Trueman (W, 3-2) 5 saves

FERRUM: Billings 1 goal; Ali Austin (L,1-3-1) 6 saves

NEXT UP

Coach Erin Saleeby's team will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to face non-conference opponent Meredith College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Meredith Athletic Field and Track Complex.
