1

Ferrum College Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 3

Ferrum College football senior Christian Caldwell has been invited to compete in the 2021 FAF D3 Senior Classic, presented by FreeAgentFootball.com. The game will be played Saturday, December 4, in New York.

Now in its 13th year, the FAF D3 Senior Classic has been highly successful as a premier postseason honorary showcase opportunity for NCAA Division III football players. The D3 Senior Classic has attracted the best football players from across the country for the past 10 years.

For the past few years, the FAF D3 Senior Classic has been played in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as home venue for the South. In 2021, the event has rotated to the North venue and will be played in Middletown, New York.

The FAF D3 Senior Classic annually boasts rosters that are consistently comprised of 64% All-Americans, All-Region and All-Conference players from all over the country.

Caldwell is a senior wide receiver from Landover, Maryland, who prepped at Largo High School. He made six receptions for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Ferrum this season, and was second on the team with an 18.8 yards per reception average. Caldwell also returned nine punts for 35 yards and three kickoffs for 79 yards.

He closed out his career this fall, helping the Panthers finish with a 6-4 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference under second-year Head Coach Cleive Adams.

"It's amazing to be able to strap it up one last time with players from all over the country," said Caldwell. "I can't wait to make the most out of this opportunity."

The 2021 FAF D3 Senior Classic South roster is below. Kickoff Saturday is set for 3:30 p.m. at Middletown's Faller Field.
