William & Mary women’s golf team remained in fifth place after shooting a 317 (+29) in the second round of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships at The Reserve Club at St. James on Saturday, Apr. 18.
The team’s position comes as they enter the final round with a two-day total of 633 (+57). This performance keeps them within reach of higher standings but behind leaders UNCW, Charleston, and Campbell.
Freshman Reagan Garnsey led William & Mary for the second consecutive day by carding a 75 (+3), matching her opening-round score. Garnsey made two birdies on the back nine, including one on the par-4 eighteenth hole, and is currently tied for tenth place through thirty-six holes. Sophomore Jennifer Osborne followed with a score of 77 (+5), recording eleven pars in her first twelve holes to sit tied for fourteenth place entering Sunday’s play.
Juniors Katie Suk and Faith Garcia contributed scores of 82 (+10) and 83 (+11), respectively. Garcia finished strong with two birdies over her last seven holes. Suk is currently in thirty-fourth place, while Garcia and junior Samantha Skinner are tied for thirty-fifth; Skinner shot an eighty-four to close out William & Mary’s scoring on Saturday.
UNCW continues to lead the tournament with a cumulative score of 585 (+9), holding a two-shot advantage over Charleston. Campbell stands third at 590 (+14). In Sunday’s final round, William & Mary will be paired with Elon (fourth place) and Towson (sixth place). Tee times begin at eight o’clock in the morning, with live scoring available via Scorecard powered by clippd.
