William & Mary’s women’s lacrosse team will end its regular season with a game against Hofstra on Saturday, April 25, at noon. The match will take place at James M. Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, New York.

A win for William & Mary, combined with victories by Stony Brook and Drexel this weekend, would secure the Tribe a spot in next week’s Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament. The game is set to be broadcast on FloCollege and live statistics will be available via GoHofstra.com.

William & Mary enters the contest with a 7-8 overall record and a 2-4 mark in CAA play. The team ranks second in the conference for shooting percentage (.373) and ground balls per game (18.47). Key contributors include Grace Walter, who leads the team with 39 points, Taylor McCall with 30 points, Kate Draddy among the top ten in ground balls and draw controls per contest, and goalie Anna Lopez leading the CAA in save percentage during conference games.

Hofstra has already clinched the No. 2 seed for the upcoming tournament and holds a record of 9-6 overall and 5-1 within league play. Nikki Mennella leads both goals per game (3.6) and points per game (5.07) across the conference for Hofstra.

Historically, Hofstra leads their all-time series against William & Mary by sixteen wins to eight but many recent games have been closely contested; five of their last twelve meetings were decided by one goal or required overtime since their first matchup in 1978.

The Tribe seeks to match its highest number of wins since 2012 if it secures another victory this season—eight total—and equal its best CAA record over that period as well.
