The William & Mary women’s lacrosse team ended its 2026 season with a 15-2 loss to Hofstra on April 25. The game took place in Hempstead, New York, where rainy conditions marked the contest.
This result concludes William & Mary’s campaign with a record of seven wins and nine losses overall, and two wins against five defeats in conference play. Hofstra improved its record to ten wins and six losses, including six conference victories.
Hofstra started strong by scoring the first three goals of the game before Mila Millhouse put William & Mary on the scoreboard late in the opening quarter. Millhouse scored both of her team’s goals and also recorded a career-high four caused turnovers along with two ground balls. Molly Delaney contributed defensively for William & Mary by adding two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Hofstra outshot William & Mary by a margin of 37-9, including a 20-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Pride also led in draw controls (15-4) and ground balls (16-13), while committing fewer turnovers than their opponent (15 compared to 18). Nikki Mennella led Hofstra’s offense with eight points from five goals and three assists, as well as securing six draw controls. Kayleigh Bender added five points through four goals and one assist, while Christine Dannenfelser contributed four caused turnovers and four draw controls.
The match marks the end of the season for William & Mary as they look ahead to future campaigns.
