William & Mary won against Longwood 7-3 on April 14, following a five-run rally in the seventh inning at Plumeri Park.

The victory allowed William & Mary to split the season series with Longwood. The Tribe recorded 12 hits while limiting Longwood to three.

Charlie Iriotakis drove in Jamie Laskofski for the first run after Laskofski reached base on a fielding error. Owen Pierce started for William & Mary, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out three batters. In the third inning, Chase Ecker added an RBI single to double the team’s lead. However, Longwood tied the game in the fourth with runs scored on a wild pitch and an RBI groundout.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the seventh when Laskofski hit a two-run triple. Iriotakis followed with an RBI single, and Louie Bartletti contributed a two-run single to extend William & Mary’s lead to 7-2. Jack Weight entered as relief in the fifth inning and allowed just one run over more than three innings pitched. Daniel Lingle and Stephen Christopher finished out the final innings without allowing additional runs from Longwood.

Laskofski went three-for-three at bat, scoring three runs and driving in two more; he also became only the sixth player in modern program history to hit two triples in one game—the first since Ryan Williams did so in 2012. Iriotakis had three hits and drove in three runs as well. Sam Kaczmarek was two-for-four at bat, while Jack Pye pitched two innings with three strikeouts but gave up a pair of unearned runs. The Tribe’s pitching staff struck out ten batters overall while issuing only three walks.

William & Mary is scheduled to host Charleston next for an important conference series starting Friday evening.
