During 2025, the FDA inspected 135 food and cosmetics companies in Virginia, conducting a total of 138 inspections, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This represented the highest inspection count by the FDA for a single company sector in Virginia, accounting for 65.1% of all inspections conducted in the state that year.

Among Virginia’s food and cosmetics businesses, Maribeth’s Bakery, Inc. received the greatest number of FDA citations in 2025.
