The Virginia Department of Transportation has announced the temporary nighttime closure of Waterfall Road/Hopewell Road (Route 601) in Haymarket. The closure is set to occur from April 7 to April 9, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., provided weather conditions are suitable. This is to facilitate the replacement of a drainage pipe.

Access will be maintained for residents needing to reach their properties along Waterfall Road/Hopewell Road. However, traffic will be unable to pass beyond the area of the pipe replacement, which is near the property at 17002 Waterfall Road, west of Mountain Road/Route 600.

To accommodate through traffic, a detour will be in place. The detour will redirect vehicles via Antioch Road, Route 55 (John Marshall Highway/Main Street), and Loudoun Avenue before returning them to Hopewell Road/Waterfall Road.

For real-time information about traffic, work zones, and incidents, individuals are encouraged to access the Virginia Department of Transportation’s resources. These include the online platform at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, the free 511Virginia mobile app, or by calling 511 within the state of Virginia.
