Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will implement a flagging operation on Walker Road (Route 681) from Park Royal Drive to Walker Mill Road. This will occur from April 25 to May 2 during daytime hours as part of the ongoing Walker Road over Piney Run bridge replacement project.

The flagging operation aims to manage traffic effectively, allowing alternating single-lane traffic. The scheduled times are as follows:

– Friday, April 25: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
– Saturday, April 26: Sunrise to 3 p.m.
– Sunday, April 27: Sunrise to 3 p.m.
– Monday, April 28: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
– Tuesday, April 29: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
– Wednesday, April 30: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
– Thursday, May 1: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
– Friday, May 2: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

VDOT advises drivers to expect delays and consider using alternate routes, as the bridge project is anticipated to conclude in late 2025.

Traffic updates, work zones, and incident information can be accessed via the online platform at 511.vdot.virginia.gov, through the 511Virginia app, or by dialing 511 within Virginia.
