Virginia women’s golf finishes ninth at ACC Championship in Wilmington

The Virginia women’s golf team finished ninth at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golf Championship on April 17 at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Cavaliers posted a team score of 1-under-par 863 over three rounds.

The tournament featured strong performances from several Virginia players. Jaclyn LaHa led the Cavaliers individually, tying for 11th place with a total score of 4-under-par 212 after carding rounds of 68 and 69. Kennedy Swedick tied for 35th with a combined score of two-over-par 218. Freshmen Remi Bacardi and Elsie MacCleery both tied for 45th, each finishing at three-over-par 219.

Stanford claimed first place in the team standings with a total score of minus-33, followed by Southern Methodist University (minus-22) and Wake Forest (minus-14). Other teams rounding out the top five included Duke and North Carolina State.

The NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship Selection Show is scheduled for April 29 at 5 p.m., where selections will be announced live on Golf Channel. The event will determine which teams advance to compete in the national championship.

Virginia’s performance places them ahead of Miami, Boston College, Florida State, California, Notre Dame, and Louisville in the final conference standings.
