The Virginia Tech women’s golf team earned an NCAA regional bid for the seventh time in program history, according to an April 29 announcement on the NCAA selection show broadcast by the Golf Channel. The Hokies will be seeded sixth in the Simpsonville Regional, which will take place from May 11 to May 13.
This marks Virginia Tech’s third consecutive appearance and seventh overall in the NCAA regionals over the past eleven years. The event highlights ongoing success for a program that continues to compete at a high level within collegiate women’s golf.
Virginia Tech is among twelve teams set to compete at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky. From each regional site, five teams and one individual not on an advancing team will move forward to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship scheduled for May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.
The Hokies are noted as being the only Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) team placed in this particular regional bracket. Arkansas, ranked sixth nationally, holds the top seed for Simpsonville. Overall, ten ACC teams have advanced to this year’s NCAA regional round.
The competition format for Simpsonville includes three rounds of stroke play—one round each day—for a total of fifty-four holes.
