Virginia Tech Softball will play its last home games of the 2026 season against North Carolina, starting on April 24. The three-game series at Tech Softball Park marks the first regular-season meeting between the two teams since 2023.

The matchup is important for both teams as Virginia Tech seeks to continue its strong performance in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Hokies have a record of 38-8 overall and are 12-6 in ACC play this year, while North Carolina comes into the series with a record of 31-14 and has lost three consecutive games.

This weekend’s events include Senior Day on Saturday, April 25, where Kylie Aldridge, Cassie Grizzard, Sophie Kleiman, and Bre Warren will be recognized for their contributions to Virginia Tech Softball. Graduating team managers will also be honored after Saturday’s game. Additional activities throughout the weekend include meet-and-greets and giveaways during each game.

Friday night’s opener features Salute to Service Night, honoring current and former service members from the community. Fans are encouraged to bring donations for local veterans at Davis & McDaniel Veterans Care Center of Roanoke. The event includes appearances by Growley III, Virginia Tech’s official canine ambassador, as well as bingo cards for attendees.

Sunday’s finale offers Family Fun Day with concourse activities such as face painting before first pitch. Concessions throughout the weekend feature special deals like $1 popcorn for kids on Saturday and Sunday and a Family Meal Deal on Sunday that includes four hot dogs and four drinks for $20.

Players expected to make an impact include Jordan Lynch—who leads Virginia Tech with a .431 batting average—and Addison Foster with a .428 average and 38 runs batted in. On the mound, Bree Carrico has achieved a standout season with a 12-1 record and a 1.44 earned run average over her appearances.
