Kristen Skiera and the Virginia Tech lacrosse team announced on May 21 the signing of midfielder Ava Menna. Menna joins the program after three seasons at Liberty, where she played in 50 games and made 31 starts.

The addition of Menna is notable for Virginia Tech, as she brings significant experience in draw controls and defensive play. Over her collegiate career, Menna has recorded 276 draw controls, caused 25 turnovers, collected 14 ground balls, and contributed two assists.

During the 2026 season, Menna started in 11 out of Liberty’s 16 games and ranked fourth in the ASUN conference with an average of 5.56 draw controls per game. In her sophomore year, she achieved a single-season mark of 174 draws—the second-highest total in Liberty’s program history—and her career total also ranks second for the school.

Menna has been recognized for both athletic and academic achievements. She earned the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal twice and was named to the ASUN All-Conference Second Team in 2025.

With this signing, Virginia Tech looks to strengthen its midfield presence heading into future seasons.
