Virginia softball seeded sixth for ACC Championship, set to host tournament

The Virginia softball team was announced as the sixth seed for the upcoming Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Championship, according to a May 3 statement. The Cavaliers, ranked No. 23 with a record of 37-12 overall and 13-10 in conference play, will host the event at Palmer Park.

The tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 6, and will conclude with the championship game on Saturday, May 9. Virginia is set to face No. 11 seed Pitt in its opening round matchup at 7:30 p.m., which will be the final game of the first day.

All-session passes granting access to all eleven games are available for $45. Daily tickets range from $12 to $20 each, while children aged two and under can attend free of charge. Tickets are available online at virginiasports.evenue.net/events/acc-softball.

Coverage of the championship will be provided by ACC Network and ESPN. The first three rounds will air on ACC Network with additional studio coverage between games; ESPN will broadcast Saturday’s championship contest.

The full schedule includes matchups beginning with Notre Dame versus Georgia Tech at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and concludes with the title game between Friday’s semifinal winners at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

As host school and a top-seeded participant, Virginia aims to advance deep into this year’s conference tournament.
