The Virginia men’s tennis team will host South Carolina in the round of 16 of the 2026 NCAA Men’s Tennis Team Championship on May 8. The match is set for Friday at 5 p.m. at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort.

Admission to the match is free, and live streaming and scoring will be available. Coverage will also be provided by Cracked Racquets CrossCourt Cast on YouTube. The winner of this Charlottesville Super Regional will advance to Georgia’s Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, where they will play a quarterfinal match against either Mississippi State or Georgia on May 14.

Virginia enters as the No. 4 seed and currently holds a No. 5 ranking in ITA team rankings, having remained in the top five all season. The Cavaliers have made their presence felt with back-to-back NCAA titles in recent years and are making their twenty-second consecutive appearance in the championship tournament. Last year, they reached the quarterfinals before narrowly losing to TCU.

Key players for Virginia include Keegan Rice, who leads with a record of 32-5 this season; junior Dylan Dietrich, ACC Player of the Year and current ITA singles No.1 with a dual match record of 21-1; Måns Dahlberg with his second straight year over twenty singles wins; sophomores Stiles Brockett and Jangjun Kim both surpassing twenty victories; and Andres Santamarta Roig, who was named ACC Freshman of the Week last month.

South Carolina arrives as the No.13 seed after earning an at-large bid into this year’s championship by winning their regional matches against Richmond and Michigan State. Their doubles pair Paul Barbier Gazeu and Lucas Andrade da Silva are ranked sixth nationally by ITA, while Andrade da Silva is also ranked fourteenth nationally as a singles player.
