The Virginia men’s tennis team will begin its campaign in the 2026 NCAA Men’s Tennis Team Championship by hosting the Charlottesville Regional on May 1 and May 2, according to an April 30 announcement.

The regional matches are set to take place at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort. The event marks a significant moment for both players and fans, as admission is free and live streaming along with live scoring will be available for all matches. Attendees are advised that parking adjacent to the courts will not be available due to multiple events at the venue; visitors should use the main resort entrance and follow event parking signs.

Friday’s schedule features Columbia facing St. John’s at noon, followed by Virginia playing Rider at 3 p.m. Saturday includes women’s matchups between Liberty and Washington, as well as Virginia against Saint Francis, with a second-round men’s match scheduled for Saturday evening.

Virginia enters this year’s tournament as the No. 4 seed, aiming for its seventh NCAA title after winning back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023. This appearance marks their twenty-second consecutive time qualifying for the NCAA Championship and their twenty-first time hosting a regional. The Cavaliers have reached at least the Round of 16 in nineteen of their last twenty tournaments.

Team highlights include Keegan Rice leading with a season record of thirty wins, Dylan Dietrich earning ACC Player of the Year honors while holding court one with nineteen victories out of twenty dual matches, Måns Dahlberg reaching over twenty singles wins again this year, and several other players posting strong records throughout spring play. In doubles competition, reigning champions Dahlberg and Dietrich are ranked twelfth nationally.

Rider is making its first-ever appearance in an NCAA Championship after winning its conference tournament; Columbia is entering its fourteenth consecutive championship; St. John’s returns after capturing another Big East title.
