The planned work includes bridge inspections on Interstate 95 near Exit 104 (Carmel Church), ongoing bridge washing operations between mile markers 101-148 on I-95 northbound and southbound lanes during overnight hours, utility work on Route 1 in Caroline County, intersection improvements in the City of Fredericksburg along Route 1 and Fall Hill Avenue, as well as various paving and guardrail installations throughout the district.
Additional major projects include rehabilitation of the Route 207 northbound bridge over the Mattaponi River in Caroline County with completion expected by June 2026; intersection improvements at key locations in Fredericksburg; replacement of Cheaneys Bridge Road over Dragon Run Creek in Essex County; emergency repairs to Kamps Mill Road in Lancaster County; a $3.5 million rehabilitation project for Route 14 over North End Branch Bridge in Mathews County; closure of Gardy’s Mill Road due to dam breach damage at the Northumberland-Westmoreland line; culvert replacement on Havelock Road in Richmond County; widening projects near I-95 Exit 126 and Harrison Road reconstruction in Spotsylvania County; and several bridge replacements and intersection upgrades underway or starting soon in Stafford County.
