Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that the 16th annual Virginia Agricultural Trade Conference will take place on April 22, 2025, at the Richmond Marriott in Richmond, Virginia. The event serves as a platform for policymakers, agriculture and forestry businesses, international dignitaries, and academic leaders to discuss the role of agriculture and forestry in Virginia’s international trade.
The conference registration is open until April 3, accessible through the provided online registration link.
“Virginia farmers, agribusinesses, and timber companies produce top quality products which is evidenced in the state’s export success. This annual premier conference provides an important gathering place and educational forum for both experienced exporters and those wanting to break into the agricultural and forestry export market,” stated Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Matthew J. Lohr. He emphasized the significance of agriculture and forestry exports for Virginia’s economy and expressed intent to discuss trade partnerships and new export opportunities for Virginia producers.
This year’s conference guests include USDA Chief Economist Seth Meyer, who will deliver updates on agricultural economy projections and policies. The event will also feature a panel discussion on growing Virginia’s agricultural exports, with insights from Brandon Bickham of Delong Company and Randy Marcus of CSX.
The conference is co-hosted by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, Port of Virginia, and Virginia Tech Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics.
