Starting July 21, Victory Boulevard in York County will experience long-term single-lane closures due to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) widening project. The westbound left travel lane between Bowman Terrace and just past Hampton Highway will be closed for construction work in the median.

The eastbound left-turn lane from Victory Boulevard to Hampton Highway will also be closed, with a signed detour directing traffic via Yorktown Road. In the westbound direction, one of the two existing left-turn lanes from Victory Boulevard to George Washington Memorial Highway will be closed, while the outside lane remains open.

These closures are expected to last through late summer. The schedule is subject to change based on weather and other factors.

The $4.6 million project began in March 2025 and aims to increase vehicle capacity and reduce congestion through roadway widening and turn-lane improvements on Victory Boulevard between George Washington Memorial Highway and Hampton Highway. Further details can be found at VDOT’s website.
