The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 8 that an online survey is available through May 13 to collect public feedback on the findings from phases two and three of the Shenandoah Valley Rail with Trail Assessment. The survey can be accessed at https://publicinput.com/svrwt.
The initiative aims to gather input about estimated costs and considerations for both ‘Rail with Trail’ and ‘Rail to Trail’ alternatives along a 49-mile corridor between Broadway in Rockingham County and Front Royal in Warren County. Public meetings will also be held at three locations—Woodstock, Front Royal, and Timberville—where attendees can review information, ask questions, and provide comments either orally or in writing.
Feedback may be given at these meetings, via the online survey, or by contacting VDOT directly. A court reporter will attend each meeting to record oral comments. All submitted feedback carries equal weight regardless of how it is provided.
