Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to close Route 649 (Old Court House Road) in Amelia County for a pipe replacement project. The closure will occur between Route 640 (Perkinson Road) and Route 607 (West Creek Road). The work is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Homeowners will still have access to their properties during the operation.
For eastbound traffic, motorists are advised to travel west on Route 649, north on Route 640, east on Route 671, east on Route 360, north on Route 697, south on Route 640, east on Route 603, south on Route 614, west on Route 615, and north on Route 607.
For westbound traffic: Travel east on Route 649, south on Route 607, east on Route 615, north on Route 614, west on Route 603, north on Route 640, south on Route 697, west on Route 360, west on Route 671(Jetersville Road), south on Route 640 (Perkinson Road), and east back onto Old Court House Road.
