Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a section of Route 629 (West Quaker Road) in Prince George for emergency pavement repairs. The closure will affect the area between Route 156 (Prince George Drive) and Route 460 (County Drive). Work is scheduled to begin on March 4 and continue through March 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour routes during this period. For westbound traffic, drivers should travel south on Route 156 (Prince George Drive) to Route 460 (County Drive), then turn right onto Route 460 and continue west to reach Route 629. Eastbound traffic should travel east on Route 460 to Route 156, turn left onto Route 156, and proceed north to return to Route 629.

For further inquiries about the project, individuals can contact VDOT’s customer service center at “800-FOR-ROAD” or “800-367-7623”.
