The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced the extension of a road closure on a section of Route 616 (Osborne Road) in Chesterfield. This section, located between Route 615 (Coxendale Road) and Route 732 (Old Stage Road), will be closed to facilitate a bridge widening project starting on Monday, April 28, and lasting until late July 2025.

During this time, homeowners in the area will have continued access to their properties despite the closure. To accommodate traffic during the construction period, VDOT has provided detour routes. For northbound traffic, drivers are advised to travel south on Route 732 (Old Stage Road), then turn right onto Route 10 (West Hundred Road) heading west, followed by a right onto Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) north, and finally a right onto Route 616 (Osborne Road) east. Meanwhile, southbound traffic should head west from Route 616 (Osborne Road), turn left onto Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) south, then follow Route 10 (West Hundred Road) east, and proceed to Route 732 (Old Stage Road) north.

For further inquiries regarding the project, individuals can contact VDOT’s customer service center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Additionally, updated traffic information is readily accessible through 511Virginia at 511.vdot.virginia.gov and via the 511Virginia app, which is available on mobile devices.
