The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on April 2 that it will implement double lane closures on northbound Interstate 95 between mile marker 60 (Route 10/Exit 61) and mile marker 62 (Route 288/Exit 62) to repair the Coxendale Road overpass in Chesterfield County. The northbound Route 288 ramp (Exit 62) will also close, with a detour provided.
The closures are scheduled nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on April 7 through April 9, April 12 through April 16, and April 19 through April 23, weather permitting. Motorists needing access to northbound Route 288 should follow the posted detour: continue northbound on I-95 to Exit 64, turn left onto Willis Road, then take the southbound I-95 ramp back to northbound Route 288.
Drivers are reminded by VDOT to slow down and focus while traveling through work zones or follow posted detour signs when applicable. Anyone with questions about the project can contact VDOT’s customer service center at the provided phone number.
