The Virginia Department of Transportation announced on March 11 that it will conduct pavement repairs on northbound Interstate 295 in Hanover County this weekend, with double lane closures scheduled from 9 p.m. Friday, March 13, through 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, weather permitting.
The work will take place near Atlee Road at mile marker 39.7 and the railroad bridge at mile marker 40.2. In addition to the lane closures, the ramp from westbound Route 627 (Pole Green Road) onto northbound I-295 will be closed during this period. Drivers are advised to follow a posted detour directing traffic to southbound I-295 and then immediately exit at eastbound Pole Green Road to access the northbound I-295 on-ramp.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and focus on the road when traveling through work zones or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
