The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a series of scheduled highway works in the Culpeper District for the week of May 12-16, 2025. These projects are expected to impact traffic flow and may involve lane closures and reduced speed limits.
In Albemarle County, Interstate 64 will see debris cleanup with mobile lane closures between mile markers 100 and 124. Roadway improvements will cause alternating lane closures on U.S. 29, U.S. 250 Bypass, and Route 743 during nighttime hours. Utility work under VDOT permits will affect U.S. 250 and Route 751 with lane and shoulder closures.
Culpeper County’s schedule includes mowing operations along U.S. 29 and U.S. 211, as well as utility work affecting U.S. 15 and U.S. 522 with potential lane closures.
Fauquier County will conduct debris pick-up on several highways including U.S. 17, U.S. 29, and U.S. 211 with alternating lane closures during daytime hours.
Greene County plans debris pickup on U.S. 33 from Tuesday to Friday, while Louisa County continues utility work under VDOT permits causing short road closures in certain areas.
Madison County’s utility work involves nighttime lane closures on sections of U.S. 29, whereas Orange County focuses on roadway improvements with daily alternating lane closures on major routes like U.S. 33 and Route 20.
Rappahannock County is set for paving activities that will lead to alternating lane closures throughout the day in specified areas.
VDOT advises drivers to remain cautious around work zones and follow detour signs where applicable.
