The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is set to present the findings of a corridor study on Route 360, covering Essex, King and Queen, and King William counties. The results will be shared at an upcoming community meeting.
The study, known as an Arterial Management Plan, aims to assist local governments in planning future transportation projects along the 30-mile stretch from the Route 619 intersection in Essex County to the Hanover County line.
Community members are invited to attend the meeting to learn about the study’s findings and provide feedback on potential project ideas. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at King William High School located at 80 Cavalier Dr., King William, VA 23086. A presentation will commence at 5:15 p.m. In case of inclement weather, a backup date has been set for Wednesday, May 14 at the same time and location.
Attendees can visit between 5-7 p.m. to view displays and engage with VDOT and project staff regarding any questions or concerns. Meeting materials will also be available on VDOT’s website starting May 8.
The Route 360 Arterial Management Plan (AMP) study began in 2024 with the goal of identifying concepts for transportation improvements that enhance safety while maintaining traffic flow and supporting economic development across all three localities involved.
Comments from the public will be accepted from May 8 through May 23, 2025. Feedback can be submitted in person during the meeting or through various channels including an online survey launching on May 8, via email at fred.comments@vdot.virginia.gov, or by mailing comments to Cassie Lord at VDOT’s Richmond office.
All comments collected during this period will contribute to finalizing the study document.
