VCU Women’s Tennis will compete against No. 15 Duke in the NCAA Tournament First Round on May 1 in Durham, North Carolina, according to an April 27 announcement.

The matchup is significant as it marks VCU’s 22nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament, highlighting the program’s consistent performance over the years. The Rams secured their place with a narrow 4-3 victory over Fordham during the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Duke comes into the contest holding an overall record of 18 wins and seven losses, including a strong showing in Atlantic Coast Conference play with ten victories and two defeats. The Blue Devils reached the semifinals of their conference tournament before being eliminated by Virginia with a score of 4-2.

Should VCU win this opening round, they will move on to face either Old Dominion or Tennessee on Saturday at 4 p.m., continuing their postseason journey.
