VCU Women’s Tennis secured a 4-0 victory over Saint Joseph’s on Apr. 18 at the Thalhimer Tennis Center in Richmond, concluding their regular season with an undefeated record in Atlantic 10 conference play.

The result highlights VCU’s dominance within the conference, as they improved to a perfect 5-0 record against Atlantic 10 opponents and moved to an overall record of 11-10. For Saint Joseph’s, the loss dropped their overall mark to 5-20.

In doubles action, VCU took early leads on all three courts. The team on Court 2 earned a convincing 6-1 win, while Court 3 followed with a 6-3 victory that clinched the doubles point for the Rams. The match on Court 1 was left unfinished with VCU leading.

Singles play saw continued success for VCU. On Court 1, one player recorded a commanding straight-set win (6-1, 6-0), marking her third consecutive singles victory and eleventh of the season. Another Ram followed with a decisive win on Court 2 (6-1, 6-1), improving her recent run to five wins in six matches. The clinching point came from Court 6 where another VCU player posted a strong performance (6-2, 6-1). Other matches were halted once the team result was decided but showed Rams players leading or closely contesting sets.

With this sweep over Saint Joseph’s and an unblemished conference slate—including earlier wins over George Washington, George Mason, Richmond, and Duquesne—VCU heads into postseason play riding significant momentum.

Next up for the Rams is participation in the Atlantic 10 Tournament; details about their upcoming opponents are yet to be determined.
