In singles play, Bredschneijder secured a straight-set win on Court 2 (6-0, 6-3), followed by Petera’s dominant performance on Court 5 (6-2, 6-1). Coach Dimi Kutrovsky said: “Took care of business today. Not always easy to beat teams you’re supposed to beat, I think we did a good job overall of taking care of our courts and handling some heat. Looking forward to finishing at home on Saturday and preparing for the A-10 tournament.”
Other matches were trending in VCU’s favor before being halted. On Court 1, Mnatsakanyan split sets with Enrique Lana before their match was stopped; Mantach held a lead in his second set after dropping the first in a tiebreaker.
The Rams will next host Saint Joseph’s for their regular season finale during Senior Night.
