VCU Men’s Tennis Head Coach Dimi Kutrovsky announced on April 30 the signing of Yassin Wageh to the team.

Wageh, who is from Cairo, Egypt, brings experience from both junior and professional tennis. He has earned an ATP singles point and represented Egypt in several competitions. Wageh has also won multiple national trophies. On the junior circuit, he secured singles titles at J100 and J60 events as well as two J30 championships. He also advanced to the semifinals of the AJC J200 tournament. In doubles play, he reached a final at the J200 level and claimed several titles at both J60 and J30 tournaments.

“Super excited to have Yassin join the Rams. He’s got ITF and Pro level experience. More importantly in our talks he has shown a strong desire for hard work and is ready to take on challenges. He’s a great addition to the team and we’re looking forward to starting the journey with him,” Kutrovsky said.

Wageh will become part of VCU’s roster for the 2026-27 season.

The addition of Wageh reflects VCU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its men’s tennis program with players who have international experience.
