VCU defeated George Mason 13-2 in women’s lacrosse on April 25, setting a new program record for fewest goals allowed in a single game.
The Rams’ defense limited the Patriots to just two goals, breaking their previous record of three goals allowed, which was set earlier this season. The win marks VCU’s regular season finale and improves their record to 12-4 overall and 8-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The game opened with back-to-back goals from Eilbacher as VCU built an early lead. By halftime, the Rams were ahead after scoring eight unanswered goals and extended their lead to as much as twelve before O’Keefe scored the final goal with just over five minutes remaining. Defensively, VCU allowed only nine total shots in the first half and four shots on goal.
George Mason’s Regan Bestick recorded eleven saves during the match. Looking ahead, VCU will face either St. Bonaventure or George Washington in the Atlantic 10 Semifinals scheduled for Friday, May 1 at Davidson, North Carolina.
